Compare The Honda HR-V vs. The Competition

Subcompact SUVs are All the Rage - See What Sets the 2022 Honda HR-V Apart for Your Palm Bay Commute

It's no secret that more and more Melbourne, FL drivers are gravitating towards the stylishness and versatility of small SUVs these days. Offering the design aesthetic that they love in a size that's easy to park in crowded lots and a cinch to maneuver in traffic, subcompact crossovers have a lot to offer families and single professionals alike. At Southeastern Honda, we're proud to present our Vero Beach customers with a model that embodies all of these sought-after characteristics with genuine Honda quality - the 2022 Honda HR-V.

The smallest SUV in the Honda lineup of vehicles, this five-passenger model is flexible and has impressive cargo storage capability. But we know there may be similarly sized options competing for your attention in Sebastian, FL. To help you understand what makes our SUV the best choice, we've highlighted some key differences between it and three competitors in its class. Read on to learn more.

2022 Honda HR-V vs. Toyota Corolla Cross

  • Passenger comfort and space. When you look at these two small SUVs side-by-side, the Toyota model is slightly longer. It measures around five inches longer than our Honda model. But the 2022 Honda HR-V maximizes its dimensions better, offering a more-spacious interior that includes more than seven inches of extra backseat legroom over the Toyota.
  • Cargo space. Being small, flexibility is a must for these models. Where both have more than 20 cubic feet of cargo storage space behind their second row, the 2022 Honda HR-V delivers more flexibility and versatility, in the form of a backseat that can either fold down or flip up. This helps you make room for bulkier or awkward items when you need it, and the Toyota model doesn't offer this kind of flexibility.

2022 Honda HR-V vs. Nissan Kicks

  • Available all-wheel drive. We're fortunate here in the Cocoa, FL area that all-wheel drive isn't always a necessity, like it is in other parts of the country. But it's a nice feature when you want it, and the 2022 Honda HR-V has it. Whereas you can order AWD on our SUV, the Nissan Kicks doesn't have it available anywhere in its lineup.
  • Performance. Where both models deliver a standard level of power from a four-cylinder engine, the 2022 Honda HR-V has a greater output than the Nissan Kicks. Our model comes powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 141 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the Nissan Kicks gets a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, and a top output of just 122 horsepower.

2022 Honda HR-V vs. Subaru Crosstrek

  • Cargo space. With up to 24.3 cubic feet of storage space behind its second row, and the added flexibility of the backseat that folds down or flips up, the 2022 Honda HR-V is more useful and accommodating than the Subaru Crosstrek, which has room for just 20 cubic feet in its rear cargo hold.
  • Backseat comfort. Just because you want a small SUV doesn't mean you want it to feel small on the inside. With the 2022 Honda HR-V, your comfort, and that of your passengers, is a top priority. Our SUV feels airy and spacious inside, especially in the backseat when compared to the Subaru Crosstrek. Expect greater amounts of everything - headroom, legroom, and shoulder room, in our model compared to the Subaru model.
